DLR Musician in residence

In 2023, Dublin-based guitarist and composer Chris Comhaill served as the dlr Musician-in-Residence at dlr LexIcon, selected as the scheme’s selected artist and given dedicated time, space and support to develop his Dúchas | Celtic Guitar project.

During his tenure from April to October, Chris focused on expanding and reimagining a repertoire of traditional Celtic melodies for solo guitar, blending them with modern harmony, improvisation and digital technology to create an immersive contemporary folk experience.

The residency culminated in informal presentations and a showcase performance at dlr LexIcon’s Studio, where audiences heard new arrangements and compositions born from his exploration of heritage, identity and musical innovation.
